The vision of this new totem form came to me just after my trip to Belur, Southern India.

The rhythm of the Hindu temple structure, the sculptured figures on the facade of walls and columns, and the layers and layers of detailed patterns and intricate textures carved into the stone influenced my ideas.

The challenge was to translate my impressions into the totemic figure.
