My experience working in a community in Havana, Cuba reaffirmed my interest in traditional arts and performance. Cuban music, body language and speech are translated into the form of these spiritual towers - 'Totems'.

Fascinated by the stories of rituals of their Afro-Cuban ancestors, I focused on sculpting the space to convey the tensions of polarities - female/male and giving/receiving - to interpret renewal and transformation in our lives.
